KARACHI: Pakistan Director General Rangers (Sindh) General Bilal Akbar stressed the need to establish rehabilitation centers for convicts in the province on Saturday.
During his meeting with a delegation of leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), DG Rangers Sindh said Apex Committee had also discussed the possibility of establishing the centers.
During the meeting, Major General Bilal Akbar said that such a system is already applied in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and there is a need for legislation in Sindh to create services in Sindh.
This was the first meeting between the leaders of the DG Rangers and MQM after the death of Farooq Sattar coordinator Aftab Ahmed custody of paramilitary troops.
Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Rangers also met separately with Muhajir Qaumi leaders and Pak Parties Sarzameen Movement to discuss the security situation in the province.
Political parties assured the DG Rangers to play their role in achieving peace in the metropolitan city.
